   My Personal Details

I was born in Jerusalem in 1967.

As a teenager, I was writing popular music, but after the army service, I decided to dedicate my time to artistic music and music education.

I studied privately with well-known composers, like Abel Erlich, Mark Kopytman (Israel), and Enrico Josif (Yugoslavia). I graduated at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem at the Musicology and Philosophy departments, and also graduated for a teaching certificate at the Hebrew University School of Education.

At the age of 30, I moved to Hungary, and spent my time there studying composition and conducting at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music (Budapest), and at the Kodaly Institute (Kecskemet). I lived in Hungary for 4 years, and was very active as a composer, giving many concerts with my ensemble Shyra, in Hungary, Austria and Italy.

Coming back to Israel, I joined the managing staff of the Ha'Sadna Conservatory in Jerusalem. I was especially interested in education and in composing artistic poetry.

After two years of extensive musical performances, I was admitted to the Mandel School for Educational Leadership, and graduated after developing special pedagogic programs for the combined teaching of music and poetry.

In the last couple of years, my music was played in Israeli radio and in concerts in Israel, as well as in Italy, Hungary, and Austria. I composed texts of international artists such as Primo Levi, Vasco Popa, Szabo Lorenc, and Israeli leading poets such as Nathan Alterman, Avraham Halfi, Hamutal Bar-Yossef, and Miriam Baruch - Halfi.

Alongside composing music, I was very active in the Jerusalem Music Centre, and led several projects for the teaching of music throughout Israel.

Nowadays, I serve as the Jewish Agency's head of delegation and Representative of the Education Department for Central/Eastern Europe.
